The Medical Unit at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital is a 26-bed unit with an average census of eight to ten patients and one swing bed department incorporated to med/surg that is skilled nursing. The clinical nursing program is new and offers a different/slower pace of training where a new nurse can acclimate and have time to learn our department better. Consults with Level II Paramedic in the delivery of patient care and associated functions. - Assists with patient care in the hospital within scope of practice and hospital guidelines, except in activities that would prevent an immediate response for a patient transport. - Operates Flight For Life vehicles including ambulances and the Flight For Life Suburban, in support of ground ambulance operations, relocating vehicles to cover for maintenance, and other program needs. - Ensures decontamination of the vehicles and equipment. Ensures the ambulance is equipped and stocked. - Provides reassurance and comfort to family members. Demonstrates compassion in interactions with families and patients. - Documents patient care activities in a timely manner, maintaining confidentiality.
