The Medical Unit at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital is a 26-bed unit with an average census of eight to ten patients and one swing bed department incorporated to med/surg that is skilled nursing. The department covers general medical, surgery, all post-op, generalized pneumonia, flu, wound care (on skilled nursing side) and physical therapy. The clinical nursing program is new and offers a different/slower pace of training where a new nurse can acclimate and have time to learn our department better. We seek candidates that are flexible and willing to cross train to accommodate labor and delivery if needed.      Job Summary: As a Nurse, you will assume responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient. Consults with Level II Paramedic in the delivery of patient care and associated functions. - Assists with patient care in the hospital within scope of practice and hospital guidelines, except in activities that would prevent an immediate response for a patient transport. - Operates Flight For Life vehicles including ambulances and the Flight For Life Suburban, in support of ground ambulance operations, relocating vehicles to cover for maintenance, and other program needs. - Ensures decontamination of the vehicles and equipment. Ensures the ambulance is equipped and stocked. - Provides reassurance and comfort to family members.
