The Surgical Tech/Scrub Tech works under the supervision of the surgeon and RN. Assists surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical cases and passing items to surgeons and nurses as needed. Assists in preparing and moving patients and sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment and rooms.
Day to Day duties:
- Scrub on all cases Primarily; GEN, Sine, GYN, Ortho, (Totals/Sport Medicine), Robotics (DaVinci XI) urology, ENT, Plastics, Oral Surgeries, Ophthalmology.
- Associates are cross trained for all services, no specialized service Teams.
- Giving breaks and/or providing additional supplies and sterile instruments as needed during operations.
- Assisting with Room turnover and restocking for next day’s cases.
- Marinating Sterile field during procedures.
- Handing instruments to surgeons, anticipating surgeons needs. Maintaining and updating preference cards.
Schedule: Could be 5x8hrs or 4x10hrs

St. Elizabeth Hospital Emergency Department is state verified as a Level 3 trauma center with the ability to stabilize and keep 85% of traumas presenting to the hospital. Additionally, as a Chest Pain Center, the Emergency Department provides the highest level of care for chest pain patients and is aligned with the Centura network when needing to transfer patients to higher levels of care. Yearly volumes for the Emergency Department are around 7,758 annually and admit nearly 800 patients to our inpatients setting each year.
