The 5 West area is a medical surgical unit with specialties in oncology and orthopedics. The 5 South section is a medical surgical unit with the same specialties as 5 West, but also has locked doors for the safety of its pediatric patients. Nurses float between the two areas, from shift to shift, giving them the opportunity to experience a wide variety of patient populations and disease processes while working with a supportive and collaborative interdisciplinary team (knee/hip replacement, back surgeries, colectomy, gallbladder, hysterectomy, mastectomy, amputations, appendectomy, COPD, acute/chronic renal disease, GI bleed, cancer with chemotherapy, cellulitis, RSV, bowel obstructions, diabetes, etc.). It is our mission to not only support patients and families through their most difficult times in the hospital, but to also support them on their health journey once they leave the hospital.   As a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse at Longmont United Hospital you will asume responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient. Maintain communication and promote cooperation with unit staff and other departments. Supervise the staff; authorize work procedures and assign duties. - Provides input and recommendations to the director/manager on coaching, mentoring and performance management of associates. - Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act. - Personally, accountable for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values. This RN Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for support of GI and Pulmonary cases.   Schedule: 4 10-hour shifts, 1 complete weekend (Saturday & Sunday) every 6 weeks, 1 Night call shift per week

Schedule:  It is 3-12’s, predominantly 9:00am-9:30pm, with one weekend (Friday night – Monday morning) per month of call. The weekend of call you work the Saturday as a shift.   There is also call during the week and everyone typically has a night each from 9:30pm-6:30am.

Supports services by updating, researching and maintaining databases utilized by staff. Direct supervision of Bed Placement Coordinators to ensure adherence to all policies and procedures. Will facilitate all goals established for Bed Placement Center and provide leadership role in day-to-day operations. Manages and executes daily throughput activities. Oversees staffing alignment decisions in CCSO. Oversees bed placement coordinators and acts as clinical expertise for decision making when clinical judgement is needed for level of care and/or care setting. Also, maintains responsibilities for assisting with answering incoming and making outbound calls that assists with patient placement in Centura Hospitals.

Includes developing and maintaining physician relations, empowering clinical care givers through solicitation of input, and implementation of actions to improve delivery of patient care. The Crisis Assessment Specialist may perform the following as required: face-to-face evaluations, telephone triage evaluations, respond to and/or triage patient/family complaints, assist in management of all assessment records, perform statistical analysis, and perform billing-related activities connected with assessments.
