Under the direction of an RN, assists in smooth daily operations of the PACU, OR, or GI Lab by performing routine and delegated ancillary duties according to standards and policies. Assists nurses in preparing and transporting patients for surgery. Helps maintain cleanliness and upkeep of equipment and supplies in the care environment.

Responsible for leading the daily work assignments performed in the Nutrition Services department including food preparation and delivery, catering, sanitation and stocking. This is a working position and requires the ability to train and orient new staff. Responsible for following Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Safe Handling Guidelines regarding food safety and sanitation. Will provide excellent customer services when working with patients, visitors and other staff members. The Nutrition Svcs Lead may perform work in one or more of the following areas: barista, cashiering, dishwashing, floor stock, food preparation, meeal assembly and service, meal deliver, sanitation, tray collection.

The Surgical Tech/Scrub Tech works under the supervision of the surgeon and RN. Assists surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical cases and passing items to surgeons and nurses as needed. Assists in preparing and moving patients and sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment and rooms.
Day to Day duties:
- Scrub on all cases.
- Primarily, GEN, GYN, Urology, Ortho (Totals/ Sports Medicine), Spine, Neuro, Plastics, Robotics (DaVinci XI) and Trauma.
- Penrose specializes in Heart, Vascular surgeries with dedicated service teams for hearts and Vascular only.
- Giving breaks and/or providing additional supplies and sterile instruments as needed during operations.
- Assisting with Room turnover and restocking for next day’s cases.
- Maintain Sterile field during procedures.
- Handing instruments to surgeons, anticipating surgeon’s needs.
- Maintaining and updating preference cards.
