St. Elizabeth Hospital Emergency Department is state verified as a Level 3 trauma center with the ability to stabilize and keep 85% of traumas presenting to the hospital. Additionally, as a Chest Pain Center, the Emergency Department provides the highest level of care for chest pain patients and is aligned with the Centura network when needing to transfer patients to higher levels of care. Yearly volumes for the Emergency Department are around 7,758 annually and admit nearly 800 patients to our inpatients setting each year. We look for candidates with strong teamwork, collaboration, flexibility, and an attitude for doing what is needed for our patients.

 

As an Emergency Department RN at St. Elizabeth Hospital you will assumes responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient. Promotes the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act. Demonstrates personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.

What You Bring/Job Requirements

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

  • Required Experience:
    • 1 year ED experience required
      • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to Emergency nursing
  • Required Education:
    • Nursing Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing required
      • Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
    • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RN's
  • Required Licensure/Certifications:
    • RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact,
      • Colorado Only: RNs working in Colorado under a multi-state license must obtain their CO RN license within 30 days of establishing residency, i.e., drivers license, register to vote, etc. Compact to Compact. Upon issuance of a new multistate license, the former license is inactivated.  For more information visit Colorado Board of Nursing - Compact Licensure
    • BLS from the American Heart Association required
    • ACLS, ENPC (or PALS), NIHSS, and TNCC required within 6 months of hire or transfer
      • Department covers cost of certifications required within six months listed above

Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

St. Elizabeth Hospital, located in Fort Morgan, Colorado, is a Level 3 Trauma Center and an American College of Cardiology Accredited Chest Pain Center serving northeastern Colorado. Providing care through-out the region, St. Elizabeth Hospital provides cardiology, maternal, emergency, surgical, pediatrics, and acute care inpatient services in addition to the multitude of subspecialists in our specialty clinic.

At 50 beds, St. Elizabeth is the region’s referral center serving a wide span of northeastern Colorado. While recently becoming a part of Centura, St. Elizabeth has been in the community since 1952 and has been living out its mission since day one. St. Elizabeth resides in Morgan County which is one of the most diverse counties in Colorado speaking more than 28 languages.
