At Centura Health, we value incredible people with incredible skills – but your commitment to a greater cause is something we value even more. The Chief Medical Officer is responsible for providing leadership, strategic direction and overall operational management of physician services and medical staff administration for the hospital.  Works with the CEO to develop strategic plans, policies and address operational issues that build effective relationships between the hospital and its Medical Staff to produce excellence in clinical outcomes effectiveness.  Works with the CNO to provide effective multidisciplinary approaches to clinical outcome management and environments of Quality and Safety.  Additional responsibilities include establishing and implementing standards and policies to ensure the quality of medical care.  Works closely with the operating group CMO and Centura CME to meet Centura system wide strategies, goals, objectives and standards.  Serves as a community resource and provides advice and counsel to Centura administrators on Medical and Administration matters related to medical practice and current affairs. 

    What You Bring/Job Requirements

    In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

    • MD, Board Certified in an approved clinical specialty required while in clinical practice; MBA or MHA preferred.
    • Five years experience with progressive responsibility in healthcare leadership roles, committees or appointments. Medical staff relations, quality measurement credentialing and previous medical management experience highly desirable. Knowledge of JCAHO, managed care and health policy to effectively integrate medical management.
    • Licensed Physician with clinical background (board certified while in clinical practice)
